Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before booking Pure Breeze.
How often should I have my air ducts cleaned?+
The NADCA recommends professional cleaning every 3–5 years for typical homes. Cleaning more often may be needed if you have pets, allergies, recent renovations, or a smoker in the home.
How long does a typical duct cleaning take?+
Most residential jobs take 3–5 hours depending on home size and system complexity. Commercial jobs are quoted individually after an on-site walkthrough.
Is duct cleaning really worth it?+
Yes. Clean ducts improve indoor air quality, reduce allergy symptoms, lower energy bills by 5–15%, and extend HVAC equipment life.
How much does duct cleaning cost?+
Our inspections start at $59, basic cleanings from $99, and deep whole-system cleanings from $249. We provide free, transparent quotes with no hidden fees.
Do you offer same-day service?+
Yes — same-day availability is offered in most of our service areas. Call 607-215-8989 to check same-day openings.
Do I need to prepare my home before the appointment?+
Just clear a small path to each vent and to your HVAC unit. We handle floor coverings, dust containment, and cleanup ourselves.
Will duct cleaning help with allergies?+
Absolutely. Removing dust mites, pet dander, pollen, and mold spores from your ductwork dramatically reduces airborne allergens.
How do I know if my ducts need cleaning?+
Common signs include visible dust around vents, musty odors when the HVAC runs, worsening allergies, higher energy bills, and inconsistent airflow.
Is dryer vent cleaning necessary?+
Yes — clogged dryer vents cause nearly 3,000 house fires per year. Annual cleaning is recommended by the U.S. Fire Administration.
How often should dryer vents be cleaned?+
At least once per year for average households, more often for large families or if you notice longer drying times.
Do you service commercial properties?+
Yes — we service offices, retail, medical, restaurants, warehouses, and industrial facilities across every state we operate in.
Are your technicians licensed and insured?+
Yes — every Pure Breeze technician is background-checked, fully licensed, and covered by comprehensive liability insurance.
What equipment do you use?+
We use truck-mounted HEPA-filtered negative-air machines, rotary brushes, whip agitators, and HD in-duct camera systems.
Do you use chemicals in my home?+
Only EPA-registered, family-safe antimicrobial treatments — and only when requested or clearly needed. Nothing gets applied without your approval.
Will you provide before-and-after photos?+
Yes — every job includes photo and video documentation of your ductwork before and after service.
Can duct cleaning reduce my energy bill?+
Yes. A clean HVAC system runs more efficiently, and most customers see a 5–15% reduction in heating and cooling costs.
Do you clean mold from HVAC systems?+
Yes — we offer mold inspection, remediation, and prevention treatments performed by certified specialists.
What is a whole-system deep cleaning?+
It includes every supply and return duct, all vents, the blower, the evaporator coil, the air handler interior, and a sanitization treatment.
How soon can you come out for an estimate?+
In most areas, within 24–48 hours — and same-day appointments are often available.
Do you clean apartment ducts?+
Yes — we work with individual tenants, owners, and property management companies.
Are there any hidden fees?+
Never. The quoted price is the price you pay. Any additional service is only performed with your explicit approval.
What forms of payment do you accept?+
Cash, all major credit cards, ACH, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and financing through our partners.
Do you clean chimneys and fireplaces?+
Yes — CSIA-certified chimney sweeps are on staff. Bundled duct-and-chimney appointments save you time and money.
How do I know if I have mold in my ducts?+
Warning signs include musty odors when the HVAC runs, worsening respiratory symptoms, or visible black spots around vents. Our IAQ inspection confirms it.
Do you offer military and senior discounts?+
Yes — 10% off for active-duty military, veterans, first responders, teachers, and seniors 65+.
Is your work guaranteed?+
Every Pure Breeze service is backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you're not happy, we'll make it right.
Can dirty ducts make my family sick?+
Yes — accumulated allergens, mold, bacteria, and dust mites in ductwork are directly linked to asthma, allergies, and respiratory infections.
How do I schedule an appointment?+
Call 607-215-8989, use our online booking page, or send a message through our contact form. We respond within one business hour.
What is a return vent?+
Return vents are the large grille openings that pull air from your rooms back into your HVAC system to be heated or cooled again. They are usually located on walls or hallways near the thermostat and often have a filter behind them.
How many return vents should I count?+
Most homes have 1–3 return vents. Count every large grille where air is drawn in (not the smaller supply vents that blow air out). If you are unsure, your technician will count them with you before any extra work begins.
How is the $49 per return vent price determined?+
Return vent cleaning is priced at $49 per vent because it requires separate hand-detailing, debris removal, and finishing. The $179 base package already includes one return vent inspection; optional cleaning of additional return vents is $49 each, and we only clean the ones you approve.
